July 31, 2005 - Hands of Thomas's first national tour has come to a successful close.  The band has returned to East Tennessee where its next show will be as a special guest of Newsong.  The event will take place in Morristown TN at the Cherokee Park Ampitheater.  For more information, visit http://www.lakesideconcerts.com.  Thanks to all of you who made it out to a show or supported the band through prayers or finances through the summer!

July 15, 2005 - The band has returned home after their first leg of tour.  They will be resting in East Tennessee until July 20 when they will be back on the road for the second and final leg of their summer tour.  The band will return home on August 6 for a show with Newsong at Cherokee Park in Morristown.

April 19, 2005 - H.o.T.'s Disciple Now season is now over for the year.  Having just come home from Joplin, Missouri, the band is ready for some rest.  The next few weeks will be marked by drawing new songs into the original set.  Several new songs have been waiting in the wings, so make sure you make it out to the next show!

March 1, 2005 - Hands of Thomas is in the midst of D-Now season.  Having just spent the weekend in Atlanta with Mount Vernon Baptist Church, H.o.T. is looking ahead to several other D-Now events in Knoxville, TN, Mechanicsville, VA, and Joplin, MO.  The band is also looking towards the Annual Youth Explosion in Newport, TN.  Get more information about that event on the Tour Dates page.

January 30, 2005 - Thanks to all of you who came out and made the CD Release party @ New City a success!  The CD is officially now on sale through the website's E-Merch Table and will be shipping beginning Monday.  All pre-ordered CD's should arrive within the week.

January 23, 2005 - Help promote the New City show!  Print off these flyers and hang them in your church, school, or any public place!  Bring your friends.  Doors open at 6:30.

January 11, 2005 - New City approacheth!  January 29th is Hands of Thomas's next major gig and WE NEED STREET REPS!!!  If you are willing to help us promote the New City Gig, please go to the bottom of the Tour Dates page and sign up to publicize the event in your area, at your school, or to your organization!  We need your help to make this a great event.  The band has been working and reworking some things specifically for New City, and there are two opening acts not to be missed.

December 29, 2004 - H.o.T.'s newest release, Falling in Line, is complete.  The project is now being reproduced and will be available for purchase at live shows.  CD release party @ New City Cafe on January 29th.  In the meantime, feel free to whet your appetite by downloading Contradiction from the new EP at Knoxbands.com!  Let us know what you think on the message boards!  See you at the show.

November 18, 2004 - H.o.T. will be back in the studio beginning in December.  A new 6-song demo should be available in January with the full sound... and even Pack.  Maybe.  No gigs in November as they clean up all the songs to prep for recording.  December will also be thinned out due to the recording schedule.  Check back soon to read the JOURNALS to find out what is going on in the studio.  Grace and peace...

October 18, 2004 - Something new on the website- the JOURNAL section.  H.o.T. members will be able to use this section as a personal blog and you can keep up with what is going on with them more personally in this section.  It is under "The News" in the headnav.  Or, you can just click here on JOURNAL.  The band just got back from a trip to Lynchburg, VA to see Phil Keaggy live.  Sean Mills stated it well: That man is such a brilliant guitarist he will either inspire you to greatness or make you want to hang it up forever.  What an amazing man! 

October 6, 2004 - H.o.T. just got done with an incredibly busy week!  Friday we played the 5th quarter @ FUMC, Morristown after the East/West football game.  The event didn't even really get kicking until about 10:30 because the game went a bit long, so we played until close to midnight. We packed up from there and moved everything back to our practice facility for practice on Saturday.  Sunday after church we loaded up and headed out to Camp Bayoca for a Fall Retreat with Dixie Lee and New Providence Baptist Churches.  What an awesome weekend with an incredible group of kids!  The event went from Sunday through Tuesday and has left us exhausted.  We're going to take a break from practice tomorrow to finally get a late start on our study of C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity.  Read through it with us and join the fray on the Discussion Boards!  We've got several gigs in the works for the near future, so keep checking back for dates and times!

September 17, 2004 - I remember in high school joking with my friends about how ridiculous it was that our high school mascot was "The Hurricanes".  I mean really... Hurricanes in Tennessee?  That's just ridiculous.  And then there was Charlie... and Ivan... and maybe Jeanne or some other twisting ball of wind and rain.  We here in East Tennessee are feeling the effects of Hurricane Ivan right now as the rain continues to dump on us.  H.o.T. Trivia question - Which band member has the best reason to celebrate when it rains?  Answer: Brad Jones.  He's a whitewater rafting guide and when it rains, that means there will be good water on the river.  Happy sails, Brad. So now you know... and knowing is half the battle! (Cue G.I. Joe theme music)
 

September 10, 2004 - So Dave shows up to our gig tonight RIGHT before it is time for us to play.  This is OK except that he had just come from East's homecoming game and was COMPLETELY covered in black and orange body paint.  So... we waited for a few minutes while he went to the men's room and made himself look a little less like a Halloween lawn decoration.  We played the 5th quarter at Swannsylvania Baptist tonight after the Jeff County v. Morristown West and Cocke County v. Knox Central games.  We met some awesome kids and had a great night of worship and music.  Our next scheduled gig is October 1st @ First United Methodist Church after the East/West game in Morristown so come out and see us or book us before then so you can see us even sooner!!!

September 5, 2004 - One of the toughest things about being in a band that plays a lot of weekends is COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!  Fortunately for H.o.T., the Vols didn't play until Sunday this week so our Saturday gig @ New City didn't disqualify us from catching all the action and we caught the C-N game on the radio... And then we exhaled....  New City was incredible.  Boomsday was incredible.  Thanks to all of you who came out to see us!  We've scheduled a lot of new events in the past week that we will be posting on our dates page soon.   Make sure you check them out!  Also, if you were @ New City, we'd love to hear your thoughts on our new sound and the two new songs we introduced!  If you get a chance, head over to the  and let us know what's going on!

August 30, 2004 - New City approaches!!!  This Saturday will be an incredible time to be in Knoxville, TN.  Hands of Thomas will be playing at New City starting at 7:00 p.m.  We will finish around 8:15.  From there, it is 10 minutes walking distance to the river to watch Boomsday fireworks.  Boomsday begins at 9:00 p.m.  For directions to New City Cafe, visit their website.  We hope to see you... August 19, 2004 - We just finished playing our first live run-through with our new sound.  We played at First Baptist Church, Morristown for their back-to-school bash.  They were an incredible crowd with a lot of energy and it was a phenomenal gig.  If you were there, we'd love for you to head to our message board and let us know what you think about the new sound!

In other news today, H.o.T. has made the great leap and purchased a conversion van. God opened up an incredible door for us to have a VERY nice van at an amazing price. We will be paying for it for the next few years, but it will certainly make life a lot easier on us! Pictures of the van will be coming soon on the PHOTOS page.

We will be playing Thursday night at Carson-Newman for the final in a three-part deal for the new student orientations. It has been fun to meet some of the incoming freshmen and transfers. It was also a great opportunity to expose a new group of people to H.o.T.

We are seriously considering buying a van. Seems with gas still hovering around $2.00/gallon it is getting cost-prohibitive to drive three vehicles to each gig. I remember when gas was less than a dollar a gallon… I’m starting to sound like my dad. Anyway, we’ve found a van that was owned by a local businessman that is pretty well decked out while still sufficiently worn to be at a fair price. If we could just sell a few more CD’s…

We’ve recently scheduled another gig at New City Café in Knoxville for Saturday September 4, 2004. Make sure you come hang out with us that weekend. It is Labor Day weekend, and you could stick around for Boomsday and the opening UT football game on Sunday!
